Whoever wants to manufacture wall panels and other flat concrete components with smooth mould surfaces on both sides relies on the space-saving design and high productivity of our battery moulds. The floor-running principle allows free and easy access between the open panels.

The compact Weckenmann battery moulds simplify the production process of vertically fabricated wall and floor slabs with smooth mould surfaces on both sides. Battery moulds can be used as stationary as well as mobile systems. We have completely revised and optimised the Weckenmann battery moulds that have proven themselves over decades of use.

Modern forms of steel being used by EV manufacturers are lighter, thinner and stronger than traditional steels, helping to offset the weight of an EV battery while continuing to offer high passenger protection – creating more space for the batteries themselves and increasing range*.

Standard grid sizes in Wirtz Manufacturing's Equipment are from 14.75″ (375mm) x 32″ (813mm) over the lugs and 18″ (457mm) x 36″ (914mm) overall mold size. Production speeds can reach up to 20 casts per minute depending upon grid design and the type of alloy being cast.

Of course, battery materials are just one part of the EV revolution and the LME is home to many of the metals and materials which underpin it. Almost every industrial metal you can think of is used by the EV industry in some way, from aluminium through to zinc.

Some key battery metals such as nickel, cobalt, molybdenum and lead are already well established on the LME. We've introduced new futures contracts to provide further hedging and trading opportunities for battery materials.
